Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19)
The sacrament of baptism ushers us into the divine life, cleanses us from sin, and initiates us as members of the Christian community. It is the foundation for the sacramental life.
Infant baptism is for children younger than 7 years old. Parents and Godparents commit to raise their child in the faith. For children older 7 years of age, they need to complete one year of Religious Education and one year of sacramental preparation before the Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated.
Adults 18 years and older prepare for Baptism through the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA).
Fill out the Baptism application and return it 2 months in advance to the office. You may pick up the baptismal form from the parish office.
The donation for Baptism is $10.
The Catholic Church requires the following of Godparents: (canon 874.1)
**Non-Catholic Witness (Canon 874.2) A baptized person belonging to a non-Catholic ecclesial (church) community may be admitted as a witness to baptism but only along with a Catholic Godparent. This person is not formally called a Godparent, but will be referred to as a Christian Witness.
